After years of conflict, reports that Hamas has agreed to disarm are raising major questions about the group’s future. As its leadership appears to shift operations abroad and regional powers respond, Ben Hilton examines what may be driving these developments and what they could mean for Gaza and the wider Middle East.
Why Hamas is suddenly surrendering to the Board of Peace? Hamas has agreed to surrender its weapons. After nearly 3 years of fighting in Gaza, Trump’s Board of Peace recently announced that they have reached an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas in Gaza.
However, Hamas’ spokesman in Qatar made some very telling remarks in an interview with Piers Morgan last week that explains the reasoning behind Hamas’ decision. And Iran weighs in with a surprising statement of their own. Meanwhile it looks like Hamas is moving much of their international operations to Turkey. This is all very interesting, and very strange, to say the least. Ben Hilton breaks it down for you on today’s video.
