Why this Attack on a Church in Israel is Being Silenced

A shocking act of vandalism at a church in Jaffa is raising difficult questions about how attacks against Christians in Israel are covered—and why some stories receive global attention while others are barely noticed.

But as another serious act of vandalism against a Christian church unfolds, Luke Hilton examines the story behind the headlines, the suspect at the center of the case, and why some incidents dominate the conversation while others seem to disappear.

You’ve heard about Jews spitting on Christians, and on the doors of churches. You’ve seen the photos and the videos. Podcasters and influencers with tens of millions of followers love to talk about Christian persecution in the Holy Land, or that all Jews in Israel hate Christians and spit at churches.

But why is an attack on a church in Israel is being silenced? This week, St Anthony’s Church in Jaffa, Israel, was vandalized. A reckless man smashed statues of Jesus, other icons of saints, and multiple crosses. Unlike the other photos, videos and articles that fill your feed regarding Christian persecution in the Holy Land, I’m guessing you haven’t heard of this particular story, even though it is one of the worst attacks against Christianity…and there’s a reason for that.

Luke Hilton breaks it down in today’s video.
