Shirel is a farmer in Samaria. Just seven years ago, he and his wife and their children planted a 1½ acre vineyard with their bare hands. They cleared the rocks and thorns, drove in the posts, laid the irrigation, and carefully put the plants in the ground. 

Then they pruned the vines for four years before finally gleaning their first grape Harvest. 

Shirel had a dream of seeing Israel’s barren, rocky hills flourishing after 2,000 years of desolation. He wanted to see Ezekiel’s vision of Israel’s mountains shooting forth their branches and the hills blooming come to life.  

By himself however, that vision was small and insignificant. That’s when he met the volunteers from The Israel Guys. Within just a few short years, his vineyard grew from 1 ½ acres to 15 acres, a near 10X increase! Today the hill just across from Shirel’s home is covered with beautiful, prospering vineyards that are producing some of the best wine in the world. There are trees, pergolas and benches - this spot has become an oasis in an otherwise barren and deserted region, just as the prophets foretold. 

Shirel’s story is one of dozens that we have been privileged to be part of. Since our founding in 2007, The Israel Guys (originally founded as HaYovel) have served more than 100 farms and communities in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. We have brought nearly 4,000 volunteers from 35 countries who have come to serve the land and people of Israel’s heartland, with no strings attached. 

The work of the Israel Guys is now seen by more than 20 million people every year. Our mission is to cut through the anti-Israel propaganda and Jew-hatred to shine the light, truth and beauty of the land and people of Israel to the entire world. 

Through the work that we have been privileged to be part of, we have seen: 

• Hundreds of farms and communities have been restored, and today are thriving on Israel’s mountains.
• 45 million people have connected to the truth and beauty of Israel through our videos and content.
• Thousands of pro-Israel volunteers have come to Israel to serve in hands-on ways.
