Terrorist – How Hard Can It Be To Say It?

After a particularly brutal terrorist attack in Samaria this week that left three Israeli Jews dead, Reuters had the audacity to report the story with the following headline:

Palestinian Kills Three in West Bank as Israeli Politics Veers Rightward

Reuters is essentially acting as if the fact that Israeli citizens voting in a right-wing government in recent elections are to blame for the deaths of these innocent Jewish people. The mainstream media consistently refuses to call terrorism for what it is. Instead, they choose to blame these murders on the so-called “religious fanatic settlers.”

One of their latest objects of attack has been found in Itamar Ben Gvir and Betzalel Smotrich, leaders of the Religious Zionist Bloc. To the surprise and dismay of the radical left, this party won 14 seats in the latest Israeli elections, making them the third largest party in the government and prime candidates for senior ministerial positions in Bibi Netanyahu’s potential coalition. Reuters is subtly blaming the Religious Zionist Bloc’s rise to power for this terrorist attack, instead of rightly blaming the murderer.

Reuters isn’t the only mainstream media outlet that is currently to blame for the false and misleading headlines reporting on Israel this week. Here are a few more examples from the media reporting on the horrific terrorist attack where a radical Jihadist Arab terrorist stabbed three Jews, leaving them for dead.

Misleading Headlines That Reported on a Terrorist Attack in Israel This Week

CNN: Three Israelis killed in attack in occupied West Bank

ABC News: Palestinian kills 3 Israelis, wounds 3 in West Bank stabbing

The New York Times: Palestinian Assailant Kills 3 Israelis in West Bank

Reuters: Palestinian kills three in West Bank as Israeli politics veers rightward

Do you notice a prevailing theme in these headlines? Every one of them leaves out the word “terrorist,” and all of them refuse to only report the simple facts of the story and instead, add in their own misleading narrative.

CNN added to their headline that the West Bank is occupied, ostensibly by Israel. ABC News does a little better, but they’re still careful to mention that this attack happened in the West Bank, even though this is an incorrect term for this area. The New York Times gets it wrong as well, although maybe they should be awarded points for naming the Palestinian Arab terrorist as an assailant.

Several things are clear from these headlines. None of these media outlets care about the fact that three innocent Jews were brutally murdered. All of them do care about twisting the narrative so that their audience will mentally attribute at least some of the blame for this attack on Israel. And all of them make sure to mention that the region of Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria is actually the West Bank (occupied by Israel). In other words, if Israel wasn’t in Judea and Samaria in the first place, then the Palestinian Arabs wouldn’t have a desire to kill Jews.

As a side note, Israel tested that theory once by giving the Gaza Strip to the Arabs. The result is a mini terrorist state that fired tens of thousands of rockets into Israel, dug terror tunnels leading into Israel, and countless innocent lives have been lost.

The Media Should Get it Right When Reporting on Israel

First off, the international mainstream media is obsessed with reporting on everything that happens in Israel. Secondly, they are obsessed with reporting at minimum, a twisted narrative, and at most, a blatantly false narrative.

As a supporter of Israel, we should make sure to check our sources when it comes to news from Israel, and use the truth to stand up for Israel in our communities.

  • In my opinion the problem behind in the fact that our Israeli broadcasting services have no regular News Broadcasts for the International viewing audience in English. none of our broadcasting services have it it English. We are like a frog in a pond who firmly believes the whole world is the pond.. To add to that Not one of our Israeli politicians except Benjamin Netanyahu can speak in English or understands how to relate to the Non Jewish Viewing public in English-I firmly believe that God made the Jews the Best in everything including Stupidity

  • I agree with everything you wrote. I do not believe anything I hear from mainstream media. In fact, I rarely listen to or read anything they produce. All of them should be ashamed of themselves.
