Just this past week, on October 10th, former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, visited Israel. Unlike most politicians, however, he traveled into Judea and Samaria. While there, he made some incredible statements about the Jewish people and emphasized the fact that Israel is not an apartheid state. Not only did he visit the Psagot Winery in the Binyamin region, but he ventured deep into the biblical heartland to see ancient Shiloh, the place where the Tabernacle stood for 369 years.
Eleven months ago, Mike Pompeo made history when he became the first US Secretary of State and the highest-level official to ever visit the “West Bank” (Judea and Samaria). He declared that the Trump administration recognized not only Israel’s historic, but also legal right to their biblical heartland. This was following his statement made in Washington that the settlements in Judea and Samaria were not inconsistent with international law. While visiting the heartland last year, Pompeo visited the Psagot Winery. The winery’s owner, Yaacov Berg, named and labeled a blend of wine after the US Secretary of State. The Psagot Winery “Pompeo Wine” was a huge hit.
Eleven months later, Mike Pompeo made his second trip to Judea and Samaria and the Psagot Winery. He made some very important statements regarding Israel’s heartland. One of the things he said was, “Israel is not an apartheid state and it does not “occupy” the biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria.” He is absolutely correct. First of all, the claims that the left-wing media make that Israel is an apartheid state are completely unfounded. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the word “apartheid” solely has to do with racial and segregation issues in South Africa. So even on a definitive level, apartheid has nothing to do with Israel. Secondly, Israel won Judea and Samaria from the Jordanians in a defensive war fought in 1967 and are therefore not occupying their own homeland.
Another statement that Mike Pompeo made was, “We recognize that this is not an occupied nation; this is not an apartheid country. It is a democracy where faiths can be practiced from all of the Abrahamic traditions.” Israel is indeed a free country, a place where people of all religions can worship freely. Don’t listen to the negativity that the mainstream media spews out every day about Israel.
Let’s compare what former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, is doing to what the Biden administration is currently doing. Recently, a member of the US State Department said that one of the things the Biden administration wants to prevent is Israel’s “annexation of territories, and building [of] settlements.” While Mike Pompeo is encouraging the Jewish people and telling them that they have a right to their homeland, Joe Biden and his team are doing everything they can to stop the spread of settlements in Judea and Samaria.
Israel applauds Mike Pompeo for his bold stance on Judea and Samaria and for his important statement that Israel is not an apartheid country. We need more leaders like the former US Secretary of State to stand up and speak the truth.
Here at The Israel Guys, we are committed to bringing you the truth and to exposing the lies that the mainstream media puts out about Israel.
