On May 11th, 2022, Al-Jazeera journalist, Shireen Abu-Akleh, was tragically killed during a firefight between IDF soldiers and Palestinian gunmen in the Arab town of Jenin. Since then, the world has done nothing but condemn Israel for the reporter’s death.
Ever since this incident took place, Israel has been very transparent and has offered multiple times to conduct a joint investigation with the Palestinian Authority. The PA on the other hand, refused to join in an investigation with Israel or to even hand over the bullet for forensic analysis. Despite the fact that Israel has been willing to take responsibility and the PA has acted very suspiciously, the mainstream media and the United Nations have still chosen to condemn Israel.
One CNN headline said, “They were shooting directly at the journalists: New evidence suggests Shireen Abu Akleh was killed in targeted attack by Israeli forces.”
A New York Times article said, “A month-long investigation by The New York Times found that the bullet that killed Ms. Abu Akleh was fired from the approximate location of the Israeli military convoy, most likely by a soldier from an elite unit.” It went on to say, “The evidence reviewed by The Times showed that there were no armed Palestinians near her when she was shot. It contradicted Israeli claims that, if a soldier had mistakenly killed her, it was because he had been shooting at a Palestinian gunman.”
The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) released a statement; he said it was “deeply disturbing that Israeli authorities have not conducted a criminal investigation.” They also added that the agency had conducted independent monitoring into the incident, determining that the bullet that killed Abu Akleh could have only come from Israeli forces and that the bullets fired at and around Abu Akleh were “seemingly well-aimed.”
So without any evidence, the New York Times, CNN, the Associated Press, as well as the UN and many other major news networks blamed Israel for the death of the journalist. Al-Jazeera even dared to say it was an assasination.
Last week, the PA finally decided to hand over the bullet that killed Shireen Abu-Akleh to United States officials for investigation. After a detailed, forensic analysis in cooperation with Israel, Ned Price issued a statement from the US State Department. It started out, “After an extremely detailed forensic analysis, independent, third-party examiners, as part of a process overseen by the U.S. Security Coordinator (USSC), could not reach a definitive conclusion regarding the origin of the bullet that killed Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh. Ballistic experts determined the bullet was badly damaged, which prevented a clear conclusion.” Despite the fact that he said the investigation was inconclusive, he made some very disturbing statements. He went on to say, “In addition to the forensic and ballistic analysis, the USSC was granted full access to both Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Palestinian Authority (PA) investigations over the last several weeks. By summarizing both investigations, the USSC concluded that gunfire from IDF positions was likely responsible for the death of Shireen Abu Aqleh. The USSC found no reason to believe that this was intentional but rather the result of tragic circumstances during an IDF-led military operation against factions of Palestinian Islamic Jihad on May 11, 2022, in Jenin, which followed a series of terrorist attacks in Israel.”
So first of all, Ned Price said that the evidence was not conclusive, then he went on to say that it was mostly likely an Israeli soldier that fired the fateful bullet.
My question today is, why? Why, when there has been absolutely no evidence proving who killed Shireen Abu-Akleh, has the whole world blamed Israel? Why did the mainstream media ignore the nineteen terrorist attacks that took place in the months before the journalist’s death, and instead choose to focus on this incident? When there was no conclusive evidence, why did Ned Price say that Israel was most likely the perpetrator?
This hatred must cease. The time has come when we as Israel supporters must rise up and say, “Enough.” God will not look favorably on those who mess with the apple of His eye.

There’s plenty of online research that Abu Akleh was not killed by the IDF:

“The Abu Akleh incident is an example of Soviet-style propaganda, par excellence,” Diker said. “It is the byproduct of the ideological political warfare that [P.A. chief] Mahmoud Abbas and his predecessor Yasser Arafat learned at the knees of their Soviet paymasters starting in the 1960s. It was a full frontal assault on Jews and the Jewish collective before anyone could even turn around,” he added.
“Abu Akleh worked out of Israel for decades essentially as a political warrior on behalf of the P.A. while operating under the guise of ‘journalist,’” he continued. “You’ll notice that within moments of the event, the Palestinian political warfare machine went into full gear, blaming Israel for ‘murdering’ her. This, before any of the circumstances were known. This is the same P.A. that blamed Israel for infecting Palestinians with coronavirus and for poisoning wells in the West Bank.”
There is a term for this approach in Russian literature, said Diker: “gibridnaya voyna,” which translates into “hybrid warfare”; that is, using all available means to harm your enemy, whether political, economic, cultural, etc. This “360 degree” attack strategy was called “omni-directional warfare” by Israeli scholar Dr. Ofer Fridman.
“And you can judge the effectiveness, given that much of the Western media adopted the Palestinian narrative,” said Diker. “CNN, for example, published an ‘investigative’ report that concluded that Israel ‘targeted’ Abu Akleh. Israel would do well to wake up to this decades-old Palestinian campaign, because failing to do so has placed its legitimacy on life support in many circles.”

“Since the findings of the impartial US investigation into the killing of Abu Akleh, don’t suit the Palestinian Authority, the PA and its leaders are rejecting the report, vowing to continue their baseless libel and to pursue Israel in the International Criminal Court. ”

Lets elaborate on the obvious: For a journalist to observe a battle in the midst of crossfire is not the smartest thing one could do; second and most important: there would have been no loss of life if the suspects had not fired on the police/IDF; as they only shoot if shot at.
This is so true! Well said.
Scripture is exact. Jerusalem has become a stumbling block for the entire world but it is a case of the world being blinded, willfully.
Biden will be in Isreal to cause more chaos.
It’s funny how US law enforcement can take a shell casing and make a case to arrest and prosecute someone. But they can’t really figure this out with idealic evidence!?
We hear and feel your pain. Getting so that anything that happens in the US, though proven different, is the conservatives fault and even sometimes backed by Jewish entrepreneurs. Sorta like Soros and the left.
Prayers for the peace of Jerusalem and the people of Israel.
WOW Biding in Israel and that New Minister, Well only those that read the Bible will know it is up to date with what is going on in Israel, and for the rest to come. well we are told Watch Israel for everything in this world . believe it or not. is turning around Israel, In fact the Bible turns around Israel, So do not be surprised of what is coming next, read the bible and you will soon find out what is going to hit Israel and every unbeliever.Time is running out and satan himself in the form of man will come up with a brilliant peace plan but that will only last 3 and a half years, I thank our Lord Jesus Christ I will not be here to witness the results nor will any other reborn christian.
Shalom dear Israel, I cry for you
OOPS fingers on wrong keys for Biden, I would like to add though, if you want to run a country and tell the minister what to do or say , are mega rich and can buy a fool. then you run the show and not the fool.
Abu Akleh and her assistant made very unwise choices when they entered Jenin to cover that story. Two middle aged women in the middle of a very dangerous situation, wearing men’s clothing that the local women would never dare wear. As with the many other journalists and cameramen who are tragically killed covering gun battles, she is also responsible for what happened to her because it was she and she alone who put herself there and endangered the life of her assistant who was also extremely vulnerable.
If journalists and the companies they work for don’t want them to be killed or injured then they must change their policies about how they cover certain situations.
Well said! This is a great summary of the facts of the situation.
