At the writing of this article, President Joe Biden is on his way to Bethlehem to meet with a known terrorist leader in Israel. There are crucial things that Biden should know about this terrorist before his meeting, but since he appears to not be interested, here are several key facts that he should know about Mahmoud Abbas, Chairman of the Palestinian Authority and leader of the Fatah Terrorist Organization.
Mahmoud Abbas, or as he is sometimes referred to, Abu Mazen, has been the leader of the PA since 2005. What many don’t know is that he was the de facto heir of Yasser Arafat, the leader of the PA/PLO until his death in 2004.
After Mahmoud Abbas’ controversial election in 2005, legally, under PA law, he was only allowed to serve as chairman for a four-year term. This means that he is now thirteen years over his term limit. By the Palestinian Authority’s own definition of basic law, Abbas is illegally in power.
Mahmoud Abbas Enjoys No Public Support
Abbas also enjoys nearly zero public support. A recent poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PCPSR) found that 77% of Palestinians would like Abbas to resign. Elections have not been called for thirteen years, as many polls indicate that if they were, Hamas would win power, a far more radical and detrimental organization than Abbas’ Fatah.
Abbas and his illegitimate government prefer to rule with fear and abuse, silencing any who dare to speak out against them. When a brave Palestinian Arab Nizar Banat began speaking out publicly about the hypocrisy and corruption of the PA, he was swiftly arrested, beaten, and killed.
Others that speak out or protest are routinely intimidated and beaten by the Palestinian Authority.
Since moving into office as the Chairman of the PA, Abbas has achieved nothing, except to prohibit new elections so as to illegitimately keep himself in office, as well as prohibit Hamas, a rival faction and terrorist organization, from being elected to power. Abbas also has personal reasons for staying in power. The last statistic that I personally heard regarding his salary was that he was receiving one million dollars per month. He also built a thirteen-million-dollar mansion in Ramallah. Clearly, he has much to gain from the billions of dollars in foreign aid that the PA has received from the US, Europe, and Arab countries.
Paying Terrorists is a Top PA Priority
Mahmoud Abbas is also the man who is primarily responsible for paying terrorists. Not only has he enlarged the pay-for-slay program started under Yasser Arafat, but he has also made it a top priority, even laying off his own government employees before withholding payments to terrorists who are sitting in Israeli prisons.
The pay-for-slay program involves:
- Paying terrorists who kill or maim Jews in terrorist attacks (the more Jews they kill, the higher their salary)
- Financial payments to terrorists’ families
- After a terrorist is released from prison, they are guaranteed a job with the PA
- Insurance, social security, and health benefits are all covered by the PA for terrorists and their families
Abbas has consistently refused to receive US aid if requirements don’t allow for money to be redirected to the pay-for-slay terrorist program. He has blatantly stated that even if the PA was left with only one penny, he would still pay terrorist salaries. In 2020 alone, the PA paid out nearly 160 million US dollars to terrorists.
Mahmoud Abbas has consistently prioritized paying terrorists to murder Jews over caring for the Palestinian Arab people. Instead of focusing on welfare, health, and education for his people, he prefers to direct much of the PA’s budget to convicted murderers.
Abbas’ Hatred for Israel
What Biden should be aware of, is that Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority do not want a Palestinian state that is located alongside of Israel. Instead, they first want the Jews to be swept into the Mediterranean Sea, and then they want the entire land of Israel for their own state. This is reflected by all of the maps within the PA school system, in their government offices, and in their media. I’ve personally been in the office of a PA mayor and seen a map of so-called “Palestine” stretched over the entire land of Israel.
While Abbas is typically careful to word his English statements so as to sound like a moderate, his Arabic statements, and especially the statements of PA media, are less deceptive. By merely looking at the charters of Fatah, the PLO, PA, their media, school curriculum, and the Arabic statements of their leaders, we can know with certainty of the mission of Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority: the complete annihilation of the land and people of Israel.
President Joe Biden’s Ignorance (or Ignoral) of the Truth in the Middle East
This is the Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority that Joe Biden is meeting with in Bethlehem at the time of the writing of this article. Unfortunately, Biden and his administration have chosen to turn a blind eye and pretend that Abbas is a man who genuinely wants peace with Israel and is a man who truly cares about his people.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
It is time for America and Israel lovers all over the world to wake up. The time has come to expose Mahmoud Abbas and his illegitimate government for who they really are.
Such a sad image for the United States. Unfortunately Biden continues the polices and bidding of former President Obama and his administration. There will be a change in the 2022 election! The U.S. majority stand with Israel and look forward to a return to open public support. We remember President Trump moving our embassy to the capitol, Jerusalem, when past administration’s of Clinton, Bush, and Obama did not have the will, or backbone to do the “right” thing. My wife and I recently returned from Israel. Our tour group was not even allowed to go to Bethlehem. The city’s population is suffering under the P.A. and growing smaller by the month, as people flee for a better life.
Does anyone believe that Biden knows what is going on? From what I see of him, he is not fit to be president of such a large and influential nation. He is constantly making mistakes, he can’t speak coherently, he is not allowed to speak freely with reporters, he is left to wander aimlessly and ignored at public functions. Why is this senile old man being treated with such disrespect when he is in such high office? Aren’t there laws in the US to prevent this happening?
If the US has no respect for itself and it’s leaders, then her enemies will have far less.
