If you’re discouraged, tired, or confused by the current events in our world, we have a message of hope for you. Zac Waller, the Executive Director of HaYovel, provides encouragement and inspiration during these times, as well as a plan of action for moving forward.
Things will most certainly look very different for Israel when relating to the new American administration. However, there is good news. Anthony Blinken, President Biden’s nominee for the position of Secretary of State, said that the US would not seek to move the embassy from Jerusalem, back to Tel Aviv.
According to TPS, Blinken did say that Joe Biden is committed to a two-state solution with the Palestinians, although he said, “Realistically, it’s hard to see near-term prospects for moving forward.”
Blinken also defended the nuclear deal signed with Iran in 2015, and said that Iran would have to come back into compliance with it. Unfortunately, if reviving the 2015 Iran deal is Biden’s strategy for stopping Iran from gaining nuclear power, Israel, the United States, and their allies may all be in trouble. Iran has already stated emphatically that they are not interested in returning to the 2015 deal with the United States, and some believe that they are only 3-4 months away from nuclear capability.
Regarding Israel’s biblical heartland, 800 new housing units were recently approved in multiple communities throughout Judea and Samaria. Netanyahu also announced this week that he is seriously considering the authorization of 46 more settlements in the heartland. Authorizing communities in Judea and Samaria enables them to better improve their infrastructure, such as water and electricity, as well as receive public transportation services. Since elections are only two months away in Israel, it’s unclear whether or not Netanyahu’s announcement may just be a political move to garner support for his Likud party.
As America and Israel move into uncertain times, it is more important than ever to continue standing with God’s land and people. Pray for Israel. Pray for America. Pray for the leadership of both countries. And lastly, take action!
I’d like to close with the four points of action that Zac Waller laid out in his recent video:
- Submit to God – Pray, read your Bible, and connect to God’s chosen land and people – Israel. When we seek God, He gives us the peace that passes understanding!
- Do not be so desperate that you fall for every bit of information that you think will help your cause. If it’s not proven and you quote it, you only delegitimize yourself and your worldview.
- Connect to people! Do not run out to the middle of nowhere and bunker down where you will lose any influence over anyone. Stand up, admit your mistakes, and state what you believe is true. Stay in the game! Remember, people don’t care what you know until they know that you care. Be kind, build relationships, and share the truth.
- Empower those who are leading well! Join groups and platforms, invite speakers, give donations, communicate your thoughts and beliefs. Again, stay in the game!
We know the saying is true – “The only thing needed for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.”
It’s time – let’s move, YOU can make a difference!
